Recibaix

Waste recovery and employment integration

Recibaix is an employment integration company based in Cornellà de Llobregat and operating in other Baix Llobregat municipalities. It combines employment opportunities for people at risk of or experiencing social exclusion with environmental services for the collection, transportation, treatment, and recovery of municipal and industrial waste.

Recycling and recovered goods

The company focuses on the environment, recycling, and materials recovery. Along with waste management services, it sells recycled and secondhand products and byproducts in several categories:

• Furniture
• Appliances
• Textiles
• Metal goods
• Paper and cardboard goods
• Oil

Employment integration

Recibaix combines classroom and hands-on training with social, personal, and job support to help people facing barriers to employment develop the skills and habits needed for a job in the regular labor market. It is listed in Catalonia’s Administrative Registry of Employment Integration Companies. Since April 2005, its official name has been Recibaix Empresa d'Inserció SL. The employment integration law subsidizes these initiatives primarily through staffing resources, including employment integration specialists and hiring incentives, as well as funding for workers’ training and preparation time.

Organization and affiliations

The company is owned by Coordinadora Contra la Marginació. Recibaix is part of FEICAT, the Federation of Employment Integration Companies of Catalonia, which brings together companies listed in the Government of Catalonia Department of Labor registry.
