New paths into education and work

El Llindar is a School of New Opportunities located in Parc de Can Mercader in Cornellà de Llobregat. It describes its work as a response to early school leaving and youth unemployment, serving teenagers and young adults who have been shut out of education and social support systems. Its approach combines instruction with real work experience to help students continue their education and enter the workforce.

Programs and services

• Learning pathways: Guidance, ongoing support, and individualized vocational and certificate programs that alternate classroom learning with hands-on work.
• Youth-run business units: Public-facing services in different sectors that give young people a bridge into the job market.
• Knowledge development: Builds knowledge from educational practice and shares it with other organizations.
• Public debate: Contributes to discussions of Schools of New Opportunities as a complement to other educational approaches.
