Foodiverse is a multinational food business focused on fresh foods, especially salads and ready-to-eat produce. Its work spans the whole chain from seed to customer shelf, combining farming, industrial processing, and distribution.

Companies and brands

The group includes Comfresh, a distributor; Agromediterránea’s farming operations; Greenfresh ready-to-eat facilities in Straelen and Reutlingen, Germany; Thurländer Salate; Josef Müller Gemüse; Italy’s Ortoverde; and Verdifresh plants in Antequera, Aranda, and Ribarroja. Its own fresh-food brands include Sun&Vegs and Freshkia, with organic certification.

Development

The group traces its roots to E. Martinavarro’s citrus-trading business in Spain in 1946. Josef Müller Gemüse began in Switzerland in 1969, followed by Greenfresh Reutlingen in Germany in 1976. Agromediterránea joined in 1997, Thurländer Salate in 1999, Verdifresh in 2000, and Ortoverde in 2001. Verdifresh expanded in Spain between 2003 and 2007, adding plants in Valencia, Málaga, and Burgos. Comfresh began in 2011, and the group launched its own brands between 2017 and 2021. DeA Capital entered Alnut in 2021, when Comfresh and Ortoverde were acquired. Taylor Farms became a strategic partner in 2023.
