Escola d'Estiu Ciutadella

What it is

Escola d'Estiu Ciutadella is a summer day program held July 3–31 at IES Josep Maria Quadrado in Ciutadella, Menorca. Associació Chess Menorca organizes the program, coordinated by David Pons Carreras of Escacs a les Escoles de Menorca, a chess-in-schools initiative.

Activities

The schedule combines movement, creative workshops and outings:

• Sports and games: physical activity taught through play.
• Chess workshop: decision-making, concentration, planning and abstract thinking.
• Study room: academic reinforcement and math games using the ABN method.
• Crafts: hands-on activities designed to encourage creativity.
• Music workshop: language, listening, lyrics and music creation.
• Beach trips: two outings each week to nearby Platja Gran for supervised games in the water and on the sand.
