Cut-flower business and history

Enrique Montalbán S.L. is a family-owned company based in Chipiona, Cádiz, that has sold agricultural products for more than 90 years. Since 1989, it has focused on cut flowers from its region and has become one of Spain’s largest cut-flower exporters to Europe. More than 80% of the flowers it sells come from over 150 local growers.

Markets and capacity

Its main markets are the Netherlands, England, Portugal, Poland, and Spain. About half of the cut flowers and plants it sells are shipped throughout Spain. It imports flowers and plants from Colombia, Ecuador, the Netherlands, Turkey, and other countries. The company has 18 vehicles, 6,500 square meters of warehouse space, 1,200 square meters of cold-storage rooms, and 154 employees.

Team

The company’s staff care for and handle flowers and plants, with teams in management, domestic and international sales, purchasing, administration, logistics, and nursery operations. Most employees work in Chipiona and Sanlúcar de Barrameda, with sales representation in Lleida and Jerez.
