Grup Escolta Bellaterra (GEB) is an organization in Bellaterra, within Cerdanyola del Vallès, Barcelona province, that focuses on hiking and outdoor activities. Its best-known event is the popular Bellaterra–Montserrat walk, whose 33rd edition was scheduled for 2026.

The Bellaterra–Montserrat walk

The weekend hike was scheduled for Saturday, May 23, through Sunday, May 24, 2026. The planned start was 7 p.m. Saturday at 4 Plaça de Joan Maragall, at the Bellaterra Municipal Decentralized Entity (EMD), with the walk continuing into Sunday morning. If bad weather forced a cancellation, organizers planned to postpone it to May 30–31.

Registration and logistics

• Registration was scheduled from 5 to 6:15 p.m. at the Bellaterra Civic Center (EMD, Plaça Maragall).
• All participants had to register to receive a bib, T-shirt, and instructions.
• Advance registration with prepayment came with a discount.
• Registration included food and drinks at aid stations, insurance, and medical support.
• There was no return bus for the 2026 edition because of logistical constraints.

Route and notices

Access restrictions in rural areas due to African swine fever led organizers to change the route to the first aid station and create an alternate route to the edge of Terrassa. GEB stated that it was not responsible for people who left the hike partway through.
