Catral Garden and Home Depot S.A. is a Spanish company that manufactures and sells products for improving and decorating outdoor spaces, including gardens, patios, and growing areas. It operates from its production and logistics center in Catral, Alicante, Spain, and provides business-to-business access for trade customers.

In-house manufacturing

The company manufactures a large part of its catalog in-house, allowing it to manage the process from raw material selection through to the finished product. Its manufactured lines include:

• LOP fencing made from eco-friendly wicker using reused waste. The company says it has recycled more than 500,000 kg of organic material for this line since 2012.
• PVC fencing, including RECYCANE reed fencing, which contains 30% recycled materials.
• Artificial hedges made entirely in Catral.
• Natural hedges such as Coconatur, made with biodegradable coconut fibers and a galvanized-wire core.

The Alicante plant has equipment for processing PVC and recycled PVC.

Sustainability and certifications

The company follows a zero-waste policy at its production and logistics center. For the third consecutive year, it renewed Saica Natur’s “From Waste to Resources: Zero to Landfill” certification after 98% of the waste it generated was certified as recovered through recycling or reuse. It also holds FSC® Chain of Custody certification (FSC-C019342).

Product catalog

Along with fencing and hedges, the catalog includes privacy and protective mesh, edging, fences and flooring, metal sheds, artificial grass, outdoor wood products, awnings, artificial plants, vertical gardens, urban gardens, crop protection, and home decor such as curtains and decorative spheres.

Public funding

The company has received grants from Spanish public agencies to expand production capacity:

• €59,144.75 from the Valencian regional government for a project to improve and expand production of rods and artificial hedges (file INPYME/2020/167).
• €738,000 from Spain’s Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism to improve and expand production with a new artificial-hedge manufacturing system (file RCI-040000-2017-69).
• €12,039.36 from IVACE for a 2017 internationalization plan focused on the French, German, and Chinese markets (file ITAPIN/2017/211).
