About León de Oro (Tecnología Deportiva S.A.)

Custom Netting for Safety, Sports, and Industry

León de Oro is the trade name of Tecnología Deportiva S.A., founded in 1979 in Callosa de Segura, Alicante, by Antonio Benimeli. The company develops and manufactures netting for safety, sports, industrial, and material-handling applications. It operates internationally, with locations in Spain, the United Kingdom, the United States, the United Arab Emirates, and New Zealand.

Products and Solutions

The company organizes its offering into several product lines:

  • Safety nets: Fall-protection nets, construction nets, bridge nets, industrial nets, railway nets, demolition nets, oil-pit nets, and nets for UAVs and drones.
  • Sports nets: Nets for padel, pickleball, lacrosse, golf, hammer throw, soccer, baseball, hockey, batting cages, stadiums, divider curtains, spectator protection, and golf driving ranges.
  • Industrial nets: Nets for warehouses, pallet racks, conveyors, mezzanines, debris containment, scaffolding, facades, and ventilation systems.
  • Material-handling nets: Nets for warehouses, pallet racks, conveyors, mezzanines, and rack hardware.
  • Playground and leisure nets: Nets for climbing, play structures, ninja courses, trampolines, adventure parks, water parks, and steel-core rope structures.
  • Rope products: Ropes and shrink nets.

Custom Work and Certifications

León de Oro makes custom netting, adjusting rope thickness, mesh size, color, and shape to meet customer needs. It was the first net manufacturer in Spain to receive international product certifications and is an active member of the European Committee for Standardization. Its solutions meet requirements such as ANSI and OSHA standards, and it can provide engineer-stamped drawings for projects that require them.

Materials and Technology

The company makes knotless nets from high-tenacity polypropylene, a 100% recyclable material that is lightweight (specific gravity 0.91, less than water), inert, hypoallergenic, and not digestible by insects. The fibers do not absorb moisture, retain their strength in acidic or alkaline environments, and do not build up static electricity. The nets offer strong UV and abrasion resistance, and their knotless construction makes them easy to install without knots that can shift.

International Reach

León de Oro operates in more than 60 countries and says it plans to continue expanding its global presence. Its locations are in Spain, the United Kingdom, the United States, the United Arab Emirates, and New Zealand.
