A community cultural center since 1865

El Centre, Ateneu Democràtic i Progressista is a cultural organization founded in 1865 by working-class residents of Caldes de Montbui. Its home is at 11 Carrer Corredossos de Baix, where it has continued a long tradition of education and cultural programming. It is recognized as an organization of cultural interest under Decree 73/1995 and as a public-benefit organization under Resolution JUS/1140/2013.

Activities and groups

The center organizes and hosts a broad range of cultural and recreational activities, including:

• Cinema del Centre

It also supports local organizations, including Assemblea de Joves de Caldes, Club d'Escacs de Caldes de Montbui, Coral del Centre, El Rusc i l'Eixam, PAH Caldes de Montbui, and La Guspira.

Ongoing projects

Its projects include the weekly CENTRA'T podcast, the Popular University of Caldes de Montbui, and TACA'M. The center also maintains a historical archive and makes spaces available for activities and rental.
