About Rayitas Azules

A blog about editorial design and typography

Rayitas Azules is a blog devoted to editorial design and typography in all their forms. Its name comes from an anecdote about a design student who called layout guides “little blue lines.” The site publishes articles about magazines, books, digital publications, typefaces, covers, paper, layout, design history, and tools such as InDesign.

Sections and topics

The blog organizes its content into several sections:

  • Editorial: articles on editorial design, women in editorial design, studios, and trends.

  • Newsstand: independent magazines and political and cultural publications.
  • Bookshop: design books, photobooks, and publishing news.
  • Software: tutorials and updates on InDesign and other editorial design tools.
