About Cuentos para conversar
What Cuentos para conversar is
Cuentos para conversar is a Fundación EDEX educational program for the first cycle of Spanish primary school, generally ages six and seven. Ten stories introduce the life-skills framework proposed by the World Health Organization in 1993, giving social-emotional learning a narrative starting point.
Program materials
- Ten printed children's stories, each connected with one life skill
- A teacher guide explaining the model and suggesting classroom activities
- A family guide with reflections and activities for use at home
- Digital versions of the 10 stories as flipbooks and animated videos
School and family participation
Teachers and families are expected to help children discuss and practice the ideas presented in the stories. The characters also appear in Fundación EDEX's La aventura de la vida program, created for children ages eight to 11 in the second and third cycles of primary school.

The continuity between the two programs allows the same group of characters to accompany children from an introductory conversation at age six into more advanced life-skills work later in primary school.
