Steel Group and Company History

Grupo Hiemesa is a group of Spanish companies involved in the manufacture, processing, sale, and distribution of steel products. It began in 1962 as a steel-products distributor and has since expanded its range and integrated manufacturing and processing. The company says it is among Spain’s leading steel-distribution groups.

Business Areas

• Distribution: steel products throughout the Iberian Peninsula under the Antero, Hierros del Mediterráneo, and Bellacer brands. The business handles both small orders and large transactions, retail and wholesale.
• Processed products: Hiansa profiles and forms steel coils of different thicknesses and coatings for commercial, industrial, sports, institutional, renovation, and leisure buildings. Hiansa Panel makes steel-faced sandwich panels for walls, roofs, and cold-storage facilities, with rigid polyurethane-foam cores.
• Sales: SteelMed sells industrial sheet, strip, and coil in domestic and international markets, serving automotive, appliances, metal furniture, construction, signage, and fencing.
• Exports: the group operates from Spain and Portugal and serves nearby markets, including southern France, North Africa, and South America.

Infrastructure

The group reports 13 distribution warehouses in Spain, four in Portugal, and one in Andorra; one steel-processing center and one service center in Spain; three high-technology profiling lines; two panel-production lines; and a technical office.

Technical Office

Grupo Hiemesa’s technical office advises engineers and architects on products made or sold by its companies and can visit customers. It reviews projects during sales and manufacturing, including structural and envelope design and calculations, supporting calculations, construction details, technical notes, estimates, parts lists, drawings, and assembly instructions. The team also reviews and optimizes projects using Building Information Modeling (BIM) platforms.

The company says its distributed products meet established quality standards and that it can provide product quality certificates with shipping documents upon request.
