About Pla Comunitari de Roquetes
Community organizing in Roquetes
Pla Comunitari de Roquetes is a resident-led organization in the Roquetes neighborhood of Barcelona's Nou Barris district. It supports community life, civic participation, and collective initiatives shaped by the neighborhood.
Neighborhood publications and events
One of its main projects is La Gazeta de Roquetes, an annual community magazine that has reached issue 72. Residents, local organizations, and neighborhood facilities contribute stories about the area's history, residents' campaigns, and future challenges. The magazine is presented at Centre Ton i Guida during the Festa Major de Roquetes.
The organization also publishes Mes a Mes, a monthly bulletin with the neighborhood calendar, workshop announcements, carnival activities, scholarships, and other local news. It organizes events such as the Roquetes Carnival, including parade sign-ups and costume workshops, and supports projects such as Més amb Menys, a sewing workshop for young people.
Working with neighborhood partners
Pla Comunitari works with neighborhood organizations and public spaces including Associació de Veïnes de Roquetes, Ateneu Popular 9 Barris, Kasal de Joves, Biblioteca Les Roquetes, Casal Infantil, Centre Ton i Guida, and Coordinadora Cultural 9 Barris. Local businesses also help fund its publications.
