Support built around each person's goals

Fundació Pere Mitjans is a Barcelona-based nonprofit that supports people with disabilities as they pursue their own life goals as independently as possible. Its work centers on specialized daytime programs and housing services, with personal autonomy and decision-making at the heart of its approach.

Services

The foundation organizes its support into two main areas:

• Day centers: specialized services and support during the day.
• Housing services: residential support for the people served by the foundation.

The foundation provides a downloadable service guide on its website with details about each program.

Social enterprise shop

The foundation runs an online shop selling one-of-a-kind products made in its workshops by the people it supports. The catalog includes earrings, fabric bags, scented cushions, paper flowers, letters, books, notebooks, hanging decorations, candleholders, soaps, and T-shirts. Purchases help fund the foundation's work.

Team and governance

The foundation has technical and coordination staff in social work, administration and accounting, leadership and people management, and the technical direction of its day services and housing programs. Its governing board, known as the Patronat, may have up to 16 members and includes service users, family members, and professionals. Dolors Clotas is the current president. Roser Roca i Ricart, Pere Mitjans's mother, previously held the role.
