Fundació Guasch Coranty

Artistic creation and research

Fundació Guasch Coranty is a private nonprofit foundation based in Barcelona that supports artistic creation and research. Its work centers on two programs: annual grants for artistic projects and the Guasch Coranty International Painting Prize, awarded every five years.

Grants for artists

The foundation offers three annual grants to students at the University of Barcelona's Faculty of Fine Arts. For the 2025–26 edition, the program was renamed “Ajuts” (grants) and eligibility was expanded: in addition to current undergraduates, students who completed their final year of the fine arts degree the previous year may apply. Applications are submitted online or by email.

Selected projects are developed over the academic year and presented to the public at the end of the program. The foundation has presented grant-funded projects through the Concèntric program at La Capella in Barcelona, including the 2023–24 and 2024–25 editions.

International painting prize

In addition to its grants, the foundation awards the Guasch Coranty International Painting Prize every five years. The competition is open to artists internationally.

Project selection

Grant applications are reviewed by a panel of arts professionals. The 2025–26 panel included Jasmina Llobet, Òscar Padilla, and David Armengol; the 2021–22 panel included Eva Figueras, Teresa Pera, and Alexandre Prunés.
