About Observatori del Deute en la Globalització

Research and advocacy for global justice

Observatori del Deute en la Globalització (ODG) is a research and advocacy network working across three areas: financial justice, climate justice, and the defense of the commons, through an ecofeminist lens. It produces reports, studies, and campaigns examining speculative practices, illegitimate debt, the climate impacts of the economic model, and extractivism in the Global South, while proposing social and ecological alternatives.

Areas of work

  • Financial justice: Analysis of financial speculation, global economic inequality, illegitimate debt, and corporate interests.
  • Climate justice: Research on the climate impacts of the economic and energy systems, criticism of extractive practices, and proposals for social and ecological alternatives.
  • The commons: Defense of collective rights and sovereignty when private interests take precedence.

Publications and campaigns

The organization publishes reports and analysis on topics such as the European Central Bank’s corporate bond purchase programs (PEPP/CSPP) and the companies that benefited, the relationship between labor organizing and degrowth, and rare-earth mining in Madagascar. It also produces practical guides and dossiers and participates in civic coalitions.
