About Fundació Tot Raval
Community work in El Raval
Fundació Tot Raval is based in Barcelona's El Raval neighborhood and works with the neighborhood's social organizations and residents. Its work spans culture, intercultural life, education, community health, and employment opportunities, with projects developed alongside other local organizations.
Areas of work
- Community Education Group: brings together El Raval's education community. Initiatives include Raval Estiu Educatiu, now in its seventh edition, and a community program to prevent and reduce early school leaving. The latter was presented with a network of about 100 organizations and the University of Barcelona, with a goal of reducing the rate by 25% over five years and funding from Fundació SEAT CUPRA.
- Community Health: promotes and improves neighborhood health through community action, including a map of organizations, services, and associations in El Raval and the Ciutat Vella district.
- Raval Employment Network (XLR): a foundation-led network of neighborhood employment organizations that coordinates work and makes better use of resources.
- El Raval Interfaith Group (GIR): brings together 17 religious and secular organizations to address prejudice and stereotypes about neighborhood communities. It produces the Raval Celebration Calendar, now in its 15th edition, with a print run of more than 5,000 copies.
- Other initiatives: Raval(s), Raval Estiu Educatiu, the El Raval Older Adults' Health School, support for unaccompanied migrant youth, and sustainable tourism.
Network and participation
The Tot Raval Network (XTR) brings together groups involved in its projects to strengthen collaboration through community spaces, working groups, and shared initiatives. It helps local organizations take part and gain visibility while supporting a socially responsible neighborhood. The foundation also runs neighborhood solidarity campaigns such as #sumapelraval.
