Community life in Roquetes

Associació Som del Barri is a community organization based in Barcelona’s Roquetes neighborhood. It works to build residents’ confidence and self-esteem and to support work-life balance. Its activities focus on community cooking, crafts and the circular economy, health, and mutual support.

Main activities

• Community cooking: The association operates a community kitchen in the 9Barris area, offering catering and using its own cooking cart, called “TermoFlor.” It also holds kitchen training and occasional cooking-club sessions, including one scheduled for April 10, 2026, at Casal Popular 3 Voltes Rebel.
• Crafts and the circular economy: The association brings together local artisans and organizes workshops, including macramé. Its artisans take part in responsible-consumption and social and solidarity economy fairs, such as the 11th edition held December 19–30, 2025, at Plaça de Catalunya.
• Health and well-being: Nature walks and therapeutic circles.
• Mutual support: WhatsApp groups and the “Costura i Disseny SK” project.

Who it serves

Activities are for residents of Roquetes and the surrounding 9Barris area, with an emphasis on community participation and social-economy initiatives.
