Support for people with kidney disease

ALCER Barcelona works to improve the quality of life of people affected by chronic kidney disease and their families. The association is based at 157–159 Carrer Jocs Florals, third floor, Barcelona 08014.

Patient and family services

The association offers several types of support:

• Social and psychological support: Emotional support and practical guidance.
• Diet and nutrition: Guidance on food and medication as part of kidney health.
• Legal guidance: Information and advocacy for the rights of kidney patients.
• Peer groups: Opportunities for people affected to share experiences.

Information and awareness

ALCER Barcelona shares information about chronic kidney disease, including symptoms, stages, and common treatments, as well as kidney donation from living and deceased donors. It organizes or takes part in awareness campaigns and events such as World Kidney Cancer Day, National Organ and Tissue Donor Day, and Renalert, an early-detection campaign. The association also has a WhatsApp information channel, news, and an events calendar.
