About the Center

Institut Ortopèdic Barcelona (iOB) is a technical orthotics center in Barcelona with its own workshop. Unlike centers that only distribute standard products, it designs and manufactures each orthosis and prosthesis itself, allowing it to oversee the materials and final fit. The center has been operating for more than 30 years.

Featured Products

The OKM System is a custom immobilization device with a zipper closure, made from 100% cotton stretch fabric and filled with rigid polyurethane foam. It is described as an exact copy of the area being immobilized and is intended for post-traumatic and postsurgical recovery, ligament injuries, and degenerative conditions. The DAFO is a dynamic foot and ankle orthosis for neuromuscular conditions, especially in pediatric patients, and is used in cases including cerebral palsy, spina bifida, muscular dystrophy, spinal cord injuries, and Down syndrome.

How the Center Works

The process includes taking measurements and an individual mold, designing and making the product in the in-house workshop, and providing follow-up adjustments and reviews without relying on third parties. The center makes home and residential-care visits within Barcelona city.
