A voice for Catalonia’s local governments
Associació Catalana de Municipis (ACM) is a municipal association representing more than 1,000 local entities in Catalonia. It describes itself as the leading voice for Catalan local government and works to represent and defend local governments’ interests.
Services for municipalities
- Training: Master’s and postgraduate programs, courses, workshops, seminars, and events for local elected officials, with a training search tool and a pre-election program for the 2027 municipal elections.
- Central Purchasing Service: A catalog of services and products with framework agreements covering areas such as natural gas, solar self-consumption, electricity contracts, and police uniforms.
- Legal services: Grant information, regulatory briefings, the Local Tax Office, and the Local Public Procurement Office.
- Specialized offices: Brussels Office, Community Transformation Office, and Local Public Procurement Office.
- Policy areas: Social rights and health, economic development, digital territory and sustainability, local governance, education, culture and sports, and local institutions and financing.
Affiliated foundations and organizations
ACM works with Consorci Català per al Desenvolupament Local (CCDL), Fundació Aula d'Alts Estudis d'Electes (FAAEE), Fundació Municipalista d'Impuls Territorial, and Fundació Transparència i Bon Govern Local.
Institutional activity
The association maintains an active schedule of agreements with public agencies, including an agreement with Associació pel Dret a Morir Dignament and an agreement with the Catalan government on PLATER. It publishes news, statements, motions, magazines, and videos, and holds events such as its 30th General Assembly.
