Gran Teatre del Liceu is a Barcelona opera house whose program spans opera, dance, concerts, and recitals as well as lectures, exhibitions, and installations. It has its own orchestra and chorus and runs educational and community activities through LiceuAprèn and LiceuApropa.
The season
Operas appear throughout the theater’s season. Announced productions include Giuseppe Verdi’s Aida, scheduled September 23–October 15, 2026, and his Requiem on November 3–4, 2026. Family and school performances include La jove Aïda on October 3–4, 2026. The theater also hosts events presented by outside promoters, such as Hermanos Gutiérrez concerts on August 30–31, 2026.
Tickets and subscriptions
The Liceu sells individual tickets and subscriptions. Its LiceuOPERA+ digital plan advertised access to 13 operas for €60 through July 31. LiceuUnder35 serves people ages 18–35, and the theater also offers group options and discounts.
Beyond the stage
New micro-operas under the Òh!pera program and participatory projects such as La rosa dels set pètals are part of its community work. The theater also presents talks, exhibitions, and outreach events and has a shop for publications and posters.
