About Vinçon
A Barcelona Design Store, 1929–2015
Vinçon was a design and home-décor store headquartered in Barcelona and open from 1929 to 2015. It specialized in furniture, home goods, and kitchenware and eventually opened a second store in Madrid. The company received Spain’s National Design Award in 1996.
The Stores
The Barcelona store was on Passeig de Gràcia, in a building listed as part of the city’s architectural heritage. Architect Antoni Rovira i Rabassa designed the building in 1899, and it later belonged to painter Ramón Casas. In 1973, Vinçon adapted the painter’s former studio into an exhibition space called La Sala Vinçon. The Madrid store occupied a protected building in the Salamanca district, on Calle Castelló, that had housed a silverware factory until 1995.
Product Lines
- Kitchençon: high-end kitchen furniture, including the company’s own model developed beginning in 1980.
- Tincçon: a space devoted to sleep products—beds, mattresses, and wardrobes—opened in 1998 on the same Barcelona block as the main store.
