Grup Ambort is a group of companies based in Balaguer, Lleida, providing an integrated range of food transportation, storage, sales, picking, distribution, and marketing services. Its specialty is the cold chain, particularly the transportation and storage of refrigerated and frozen goods.

Facilities and Capacity

• 6,000 square meters of storage space and 8,000 square meters of refrigerated space
• Capacity for more than 5,000 pallets of general goods and 200 pallets of refrigerated goods
• Two temperature-controlled refrigerated rooms
• 3,000-square-meter outdoor area for products that can be stored outside
• 15 loading docks

Transportation and Fleet

The company operates a fleet of 43 heavy and light vehicles and 25 refrigerated trailers. It provides domestic and international road freight throughout Europe and neighboring countries, with a sea and air operations department handling worldwide shipments. Vehicles are monitored by GPS for location and temperature.

Warehousing and Logistics

In addition to storage, Grup Ambort offers groupage, cross-docking, transshipment and forwarding, picking, and replenishment. Its 10-person picking team prepares orders around the clock, handling more than 50 tons and an average of 300 orders each day.

Distribution and Sales

A 16-vehicle distribution fleet makes daily rounds in the company’s service area to deliver orders placed the day before. Grup Ambort says it provides daily service in the Lleida Pyrenees, Val d’Aran, Cerdanya, much of the Huesca Pyrenees, and the province of Lleida. Its sales team supplies leading food brands to the hotel, restaurant, and catering (HORECA), modern-retail, and convenience-store channels.
