About RIOSA - Refinación Industrial Oleícola S.A.
Vegetable Oils and Lipids
Founded in 1965, RIOSA - Refinación Industrial Oleícola S.A. produces and sells oleins, fats, and oils made exclusively from vegetable sources. Its primary markets are animal feed and livestock, and it also supplies the soapmaking and chemical industries.
Raw materials come from oils suitable for human consumption, including olive, soybean, and sunflower oils, and undergo health and safety controls before processing.
Animal-Nutrition Products
- Poultry: lipids high in linoleic acid, intended to support bird development and growth and laying-hen egg size. Applications include broiler and laying chickens, quail, and partridges.
- Swine: oleic-acid-rich lipids for Iberian pigs, intended to produce carcasses that meet current quality parameters. For white pigs and finishing pigs, the company offers lipids high in dense saturated fatty acids, in liquid or solid form.
- Cattle: solid bypass fats for ruminants, with different fatty-acid profiles for different types of livestock, made from oleins and acid oils.
In addition to animal nutrition, RIOSA produces for the soapmaking and chemical industries.
Quality and Certifications
The company has held ISO 22000 food-safety certification since 2013 and GMP+ feed-safety certification since 2018. It also maintains ISCC sustainability certification, which the company says has been renewed.
RIOSA has an R&D department and a quality laboratory equipped for testing, including GC-FID gas chromatography and quadrupole GC-MS mass spectrometry.
