Addiction prevention in Extremadura

Nausika is an Extremadura program focused on preventing addictions involving both substances and behaviors, run under Fad Juventud. Its work includes prevention in schools, families, and communities, youth programs, and professional training. Named after a character in the Odyssey, the program presents itself as a resource hub primarily for the education community, young people, teachers, and families.

Areas of work

• School prevention: Offers the Construye tu Mundo prevention program, with in-person and online workshops tailored to students’ developmental stage, guidance for teachers and families, and follow-up throughout the school year.
• Family and community prevention: Information and guidance for families on substance use and coping strategies, as well as community support for implementing municipal plans.
• Youth prevention: Informational resources on drugs and gambling, the PANDORA program for minors who have received a penalty, legislative updates, and leisure-time alternatives.
• Courses and training: Tutored courses for professionals in formal and informal education, social services, mediation, youth work, and family support, including family schools, conferences, and webinars.

Construye tu Mundo program

Construye tu Mundo is Nausika’s main prevention program in Extremadura. It includes registration for schools, teacher accreditation, and intervention-request forms, with specific links for the provinces of Badajoz and Cáceres.
