Pueblo Artesano

A virtual artisan village created by Amata, where craftspeople share their workshops and work. The association also organizes and promotes in-person craft fairs across Spain.

About Pueblo Artesano

A virtual village of artisan workshops

Pueblo Artesano is a project of the Association for the Improvement of Traditional and Contemporary Crafts (Amata) that operates as a virtual artisan village. Artisans open their workshop doors online to show how they practice their craft, and visitors can contact them directly or visit their online shops when available.

Workshops and craftspeople

The site brings together artisans from different trades. Each workshop has a profile where visitors can see the artisan's work and, when available, follow a link to an online store. Participants include Aitor Vaño of Albaida, who specializes in pyrography under the name Pyroart in Spain.

In-person craft fairs

Alongside the virtual space, Pueblo Artesano organizes and promotes craft fairs in locations including Jávea/Xàbia, Monreal del Campo, Gea de Albarracín, Hondón de las Nieves, Consuegra, Medinaceli, Teruel, Calatayud, Miramar, and Alcalá del Júcar, among others. The website has information about each fair's program.

At-home tutorials

The website offers video tutorials for making crafts at home using simple techniques and without special materials or tools. Examples include a tutorial for making a kalimba, another for making a copper ring from plumbing pipe, and a homemade modeling-clay tutorial.

Contact and artisan directory

To contact Amata, use the website form or email info@amata.es. The association has a directory of more than 1,000 artisans and offers a referral service to connect people looking for a particular craft with an appropriate artisan. It also provides information for those interested in taking part in its fairs.

Confirm contact details and workshop availability directly with the association.
