About Helios
History and growth
The Helios Group began in 1901, when Alejandrino Pérez and his grandson Gaspar started making artisanal jams and preserves at their confectionery, El Sol, in Valladolid. In 1936, they opened two new establishments, El Val and Helios; the latter became the group’s current registered brand. In 1959, the company built a factory in Arroyo de la Encomienda, near Valladolid, marking a decisive step toward becoming a major food company in Spain. During the 1980s, it consolidated its position as a leading jam manufacturer in Spain.
