Siero Lam is a family-owned Asturian company with more than 80 years in the wood industry. It specializes in primary and secondary processing of chestnut and is part of Grupo Siero alongside Maderas Siero. The company describes itself as a European leader in chestnut-wood manufacturing and sales. Sustainability and Innovation

Siero Lam applies circular-economy and sustainable-forest-management principles and holds FSC® and PEFC certifications. It produces biomass pellets from chestnut wood and uses solar power from photovoltaic systems that supply a large share of its energy needs. The company also measures and works to reduce its carbon footprint. Its innovation work includes an MES system based on lean manufacturing to digitize and automate production, as well as funded projects on high-performance carpentry products selected with NIR wood-scanning technology (IDE/2020/000472) and optimizing hydrothermal tannin extraction from industrial chestnut waste (IDE/2020/000473).
