Plastigaur is based in Andoain, Gipuzkoa, Spain, and manufactures flexible packaging for industrial and consumer markets. With more than 34 years in business, it serves over 1,000 customers across a range of industries.

Packaging Solutions

The company organizes its offering into three packaging levels:

• Primary packaging: converting films and films for lamination.
• Secondary packaging: shrink film.
• Tertiary packaging: stretch hood and shrink tubing.

Manufacturing Processes

Plastigaur has extrusion, printing, and lamination capabilities, as well as its own laboratory. It has installed extruders designed for post-consumer recycled (PCR) material, including a second line for this type of material.

Sustainability and Certifications

Plastigaur says its operations are guided by circular-economy principles. The company has received EcoVadis’s Platinum Medal and holds SMETA certification. It has also earned ANAIP’s Spanish and Sustainable Plastics Industry Seal and received the Basque Country Agenda 2030 Award.

Plastigaur aims to make all of its packaging recyclable. According to figures it has published, 97% of its current products are already 100% recyclable. The company reports that its circularity rate rose from 0.27% in 2019 to 17.16% in the first half of 2023, and later reached 19.3%.

Its Ekogaur range includes materials with post-consumer recycled content (PCR 25 and PCR 50), as well as the Zirk, MDO, and NEO products. The company has also taken part in eco-innovation projects such as REFILM, FIREPOST, and CERO GRANZA, and in N0WASTE, a project aimed at reducing and recovering waste in the food supply chain.
