Founded in 1991, Tecoplas studies, designs, manufactures, and installs equipment and systems made from technical plastics. It works on a turnkey basis, handling engineering and equipment sizing through installation, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance.

Facilities and History

The company began operations in 1991 in the Ribera de Deusto area of Bilbao and moved to Alonsotegi later that year. Since 1999, it has operated from its current premises, with more than 2,000 square meters of industrial buildings equipped with modern machinery and 350 square meters of office space. Tecoplas reports three decades of experience working with technical plastics and describes itself as one of Europe's leading processors of these materials.

Certifications

Tecoplas has an integrated quality and environmental management system. It received ISO 9001 certification in June 1998 and ISO 14001 in July 1999, becoming an early adopter of the latter in its sector. The company later integrated the two systems and updated them to the 2015 versions. In 2009, it added OHSAS 18001 occupational health and safety certification, which was transitioned in 2021 to UNE-EN ISO 45001:2018. It has also received support from the European Regional Development Fund through the Bilbao Chamber of Commerce's Xpande Digital program.
