About Aceitunas Cazorla

From hand-stuffed olives to international markets

Aceitunas Cazorla was founded in Novelda, Alicante, in 1958, when the town was known for its anchovy-stuffed olive industry. Its first factory was on Calle Seventenero. The company introduced its La Explanada de Alicante brand that year, initially stuffing olives with anchovies by hand. The current owners took over in 1992 and moved the olive factory to its present Alicante location in 1996. The La Sota brand joined the business in 2008, La Explanada Gourmet refreshed its look in 2010, and the company marked its 60th anniversary in 2018.

Production and facilities

The company makes and distributes olives and pickled products. Its stated annual processing capacity is 51 million kilograms of olives, with production exceeding 90 kilograms per minute. Its factories and owned groves together cover more than 5,000 square meters. Packaging lines handle jars, cans, bottles, and plastic containers. The company uses photosensitive scanners, X-ray machines, pasteurizers, and sterilizers in its food-safety process.
