Jardín Botánico de Castilla-La Mancha

An outdoor botanical museum in Albacete that recreates more than 40 plant communities from Castilla-La Mancha and focuses on protecting threatened regional flora.

About Jardín Botánico de Castilla-La Mancha

A living museum of the region's plants

South of Albacete, beside the greenway leading to La Pulgosa Park, the Jardín Botánico de Castilla-La Mancha turns the region's botanical landscape into a walkable collection. More than 40 plant communities are recreated across the grounds, giving visitors a way to see how native species fit into distinct habitats rather than as isolated specimens.

Conservation is central to the garden's work: its collections help protect threatened plants and support research and public education. An exhibition greenhouse adds a different climate to the visit, with tropical plants, carnivorous species, cacti, palms, and Canary Islands flora. The result is part garden, part field lesson, with a direct connection to the plants of Castilla-La Mancha.
