Potato production and year-round supply

Grupo Intersur is a corporate group that, since 2020, has brought together the operations of Intersur 2011 S.A., Agromar France S.A.R.L., Agromar Hispana S.A., Interportugal Batatas Lda., and Intersur Logística. It produces and markets table potatoes and seed potatoes, drawing on more than 30 years of experience dating back to 1987.

Operations and markets

Intersur and Interportugal focus on producing new potatoes in Spain and Portugal, while Agromar grows potatoes in France. The group supplies its production to packers, distributors, and industries throughout Europe and the Middle East. It also helps develop early-potato production in southern Mediterranean countries for harvest and delivery to Europe during the winter months.

One of the group's distinguishing features is its planned, continuous potato supply throughout all 12 months of the year, supported by production areas in the main growing regions of Spain, Portugal, and France.

Since its early days, the company has worked closely with international seed-potato growers, particularly HZPC Holland B.V., for which it is one of the leading seed distributors. In Portugal, it also has an agreement with STET Holland B.V. to develop its varieties in that country.

Additional information

Intersur 2011 S.A. received European Union funding from NextGenerationEU under Spain's Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan to install photovoltaic self-consumption systems. The Junta de Andalucía managed the funding through the Andalusian Energy Agency.
