About JASO Elevation Systems

Lift systems for wind energy and construction

JASO Elevation Systems is a Spanish manufacturer specializing in the design, production, and installation of lift systems for two sectors: wind energy and construction. The company has operated since 2000 and reports more than 13,000 lifts installed worldwide.

Wind-turbine lifts

For wind farms, JASO makes lifts that carry technicians vertically to a wind turbine’s nacelle. Its catalog includes:

  • GW: rack-and-pinion lift
  • GWR: cable-guided traction lift
  • GWL: cable-guided traction lift
  • GS Climb Assist: system to assist personnel with climbing and descending

The company says its equipment is designed for wind-farm installation and maintenance requirements and includes ergonomic features intended to facilitate personnel evacuation.

Construction lifts

For construction, JASO offers mast-climbing equipment that is, in most cases, compatible and interchangeable across product lines:

  • GP: mast-climbing work platforms
  • GE: personnel and material lifts
  • GPT: transport platforms
  • GM: hoists
  • JL: tower-crane elevators

Technology and manufacturing

JASO manufactures its own equipment and has a test tower where it simulates conditions corresponding to up to 40 years of service life, including maximum loads, installation at a negative angle, concrete compression, and outdoor environments. Its main technology is the rack-and-pinion system, which allows the lift to start from ground level and provides positive-contact movement. Compared with cable-driven systems, the company says rack-and-pinion technology makes access times easier to manage, reduces installation time, and improves installation and maintenance resource use.

Maintenance

JASO offers preventive and corrective maintenance plans tailored to each lift, with inspections and replacement of parts in accordance with current industry regulations.
