What Cátedras de la Empresa Familiar en Galicia is

Cátedras de la Empresa Familiar en Galicia is an academic network spanning the universities of A Coruña, Santiago de Compostela and Vigo. It promotes teaching, research and knowledge transfer about the distinct features of family businesses and the issues affecting their management and growth, connecting Galician universities with the business community.

The network is supported by Asociación Galega da Empresa Familiar, Instituto de la Empresa Familiar and Inditex. It belongs to Spain's Family Business Chairs Network, which brings together 38 chairs at 38 public universities under the coordination of Instituto de Empresa Familiar.

Activities

The chairs conduct teaching and research, publish working papers and communicate through a network of students, faculty, researchers and business owners. Entrepreneurship and new-company formation are areas of emphasis, with tools intended to help students put ideas into practice.
