Beau Constantia, a boutique vineyard in Constantia Nek

Beau Constantia is a boutique wine farm situated at the top of Constantia Nek, in Cape Town, overlooking False Bay. Its vineyards, cultivated on high-altitude slopes, stretch out before the panoramas of the Stellenbosch and Helderberg mountain ranges. The estate integrates wine production with a tasting room and a restaurant, and markets its wines both locally and internationally.

Two wine ranges with their own identity

The offering is organised into two lines. The Family Range takes its names from the estate's owners and each fruit is meticulously hand raised from farm to bottle. It includes Stella 2022 (R 510.00), Karin 2025 (R 240.00), Aidan 2020 (R 400.00), Lucca 2022 (R 510.00), Cecily 2025 (R 420.00) and Pierre 2025 (R 510.00).

The Pas De Nom Range was created as an homage to Oom Japie Bronn, the first farm manager at Beau Constantia and the gentleman responsible for establishing the high-altitude vineyards on the steep slopes of the Vlakkenberg. This line comprises Pas De Nom Pink (R 160.00), Pas De Nom White 2025 (R 160.00), Pas De Nom Creative Batch 2025 (R 190.00), Pas De Nom Red 2022 (R 220.00) and Pas De Nom MCC (R 380.00).

Tasting room and glass service

The tasting room is open Monday to Thursday and Friday to Sunday, in both cases from 11h00 to 18h00. Last tastings commence 90 minutes before closing time. The Deck area does not offer tastings, only glass and bottle service. The open-air patio and amphitheatre operate on a self-service basis. Tasting reservations are accepted for a maximum of 12 guests, unless a special arrangement has been made by email. Booking is highly recommended; walk-ins are accepted on a first come, first served basis. The estate is closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. No external food or beverage is allowed, and no vineyard or cellar tours are offered.

Chefs Warehouse Beau Constantia

The Chefs Warehouse Beau Constantia restaurant operates as a separate entity from the tasting room. It serves lunch Monday to Sunday between 12h00 and 14h00, with last food orders at 14h30. Dinner is offered Monday to Saturday from 18h30 to 20h00, with last food orders at 20h30. It is closed for dinner on Sundays and on Christmas (25th & 26th December), New Year's Day (1st January) and Easter Sunday. Reservations accept a maximum of 6 guests, and for larger groups it is necessary to contact directly. The restaurant applies a minimum age of 10 years for both lunch and dinner service, and does not have a children's menu.

Wine sales and shipping

The estate sells its wines through the online shop, with local and international shipping, including specific routes for the United Kingdom and the European Union. The catalogue also includes gift cards with a price range of R 100.00 to R 1000.00.

Team and points of contact

Megan van der Merwe is the general manager, winemaker and viticulturist, and handles technical queries, collaboration proposals and feedback on the wines, as well as being the contact for international sales. Lara Miller is the tasting room manager and handles special requests and general queries about reservations. Braam Storm is listed as the farm manager.

Access and parking recommendations

Due to limited parking capacity and in line with responsible alcohol use, the estate recommends arriving by taxi or Uber.
