Peruvian food in Tampa: restaurants, shopping, and a Latin market in Lakeland
Tampa’s Peruvian food scene is not concentrated in one neighborhood or one format. In the city, restaurants bring ceviche and saltados together with seafood cooking and cocktails; a specialty shop sells goods for a Peruvian pantry. A road trip to Lakeland adds Mi Pueblo, a large Latin market whose many vendors include Peruvian dishes. Those distinctions matter: booking a table is different from looking for ají peppers, fruit pulp, or a dish sold by a vendor the market does not identify online.
This guide compares four stops with different roles and separates each business’s published information from themes in customer reviews. We do not treat a Google score as a culinary verdict or as a substitute for a current menu. Ratings change; comments can point to recurring themes—dishes, service, atmosphere, or waits—but cannot guarantee another guest the same experience.
Two restaurants, two ways into Peruvian cooking
In Northdale, Costanera Peruvian Cuisine presents a broad menu with a clear emphasis on fish and seafood. Its website says the restaurant has been part of the neighborhood since 2014 and highlights ceviche, jalea, seafood rice, pescado a lo macho, lomo saltado, and arroz chaufa. The menu also lists causa, choros a la chalaca, papa a la huancaína, anticuchos, salchipapas, chicha morada, and Inca Kola. It suits diners who want to compare several strands of Peruvian cooking in one visit, from cold starters to hot mains and family combinations.
Costanera operates as a lunch-and-dinner restaurant rather than a quick-service counter. The business lists dining-room service, takeout, delivery, online reservations, catering, and a digital rewards program. Its site also advertises vegan choices, cocktails, and weekend live music; a particular event or dish should be checked against the current calendar and menu. The reviews we read often mention seafood flavors, shareable portions, and friendly attention, with diners naming ceviche, causa, and lomo saltado. These are individual reports, not a promise that every visit will be identical.
Closer to the MacDill corridor, Sabor & Fuego Latin Fusion combines Peruvian recipes with a contemporary Latin American menu. Chef David Nieves Palma’s biography says the concept grew from memories of his family’s kitchen in Peru and that his brother JP is part of the venture. The chef reports more than 24 years of restaurant-industry experience; that describes his professional background, not the restaurant’s age. We found no verifiable public opening date and therefore do not assign a founding year.
The official menu names fish and mixed ceviche, lomo saltado, arroz chaufa, seafood, grilled meats, and house-made cocktails; its gallery shows dishes such as fish chicharrón, chicken saltado, corn, and chicha morada. The restaurant also lists Peruvian beer and wine. Services include dining in, takeout, delivery, catering, online ordering, and a contact channel for private events. Google reviews we consulted praise Peruvian flavor—especially in saltados and ceviche—and mention attentive, personal service. Because this is a fusion concept, check the menu if you want a very specific regional preparation or an exclusively traditional meal.
The most direct shopping stop: La Peruanita
For a taste of Peru at home, La Peruanita Envios LLC publishes a product catalog that extends well beyond basic pantry goods: ingredients; sauces, ají peppers, and seasonings; snacks and sweets; beverages; frozen or chilled items; handicrafts; and souvenirs. Shoppers can browse by brand and by dish-related ingredients, although the company warns that stock varies and asks customers to confirm availability by WhatsApp before ordering. Recent public comments mention hard-to-find specialties such as lúcuma pulp and lúcuma ice cream, as well as snacks and Peruvian gift items.
The company’s site lists its shop at 4133 W Waters Ave in Tampa and says the business has operated since 2002; that date is its own published claim. The brand also advertises shipping between Peru and the United States. Its home page does not provide enough detail to compare restrictions, rates, weight limits, or transit times, so ask before sending a package. Published hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with Sunday closed. We found public directory comments about selection and service, but no Google rating and review count that we could verify clearly enough to record as Maps data, so we do not label those third-party figures as Google metrics.
Mi Pueblo Flea Market: Peruvian food and a dated Manos Peruanas appearance
The destination many people have in mind is in Lakeland, not Tampa: Mi Pueblo Flea Market at 2701 Swindell Road includes Peru in the food section of its official website. It lists ceviches, leche de tigre, jalea, rotisserie chicken, lomo saltado, salchipapas, and different chaufas, alongside Mexican, Salvadoran, Chinese, and other cuisines. This supports saying that the market advertises Peruvian food; it does not establish that one stall sells every listed dish or that the same vendor appears each week.
A promotional flyer gives a specific upcoming date: for Sunday, October 25, 2026, Mi Pueblo announces its second Peruvian Food Festival with Manos Peruanas. The image places the event from 10 a.m. and shows picarones, anticuchos, pork-crackling sandwiches, caldo de mote, and chicha morada. A post from the market’s official account also names Manos Peruanas and highlights anticuchos, picarones, and pan con chicharrón (a pork-crackling sandwich). This documents a particular event, not a permanent restaurant location. The material provides no founding date, business phone, or Google listing attributable to Manos Peruanas, so we do not assign those details.
Mi Pueblo says more than 600 vendor spaces may operate each week and explains that independent businesses rent them. The public map is a general layout, not a directory by country or food specialty, so we could not match Manos Peruanas with a permanent stall number. For the advertised event, the market address is 2701 Swindell Road; general Sunday hours run 5:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., while the flyer sets the festival from 10. Before driving there, confirm with the market that the event is still on and ask where the vendor will be located.
Outside the festival announced for October 25, the market can still be a worthwhile outing: its site describes more than ten acres of fresh goods, clothing, home items, technology, community services, and family entertainment. But Manos Peruanas’ appearance that day should not be treated as a promise for later Sundays. Public reviews discuss the market overall and its variety; they do not assess this Peruvian vendor separately or guarantee that a specialty will be repeated at every visit.
How to plan a route without mixing up the stops
If the plan is lunch followed by ingredient shopping, pair a Tampa restaurant with La Peruanita; they are separate addresses, and the shop should not be assumed to serve prepared meals. For a sit-down occasion, Peruvian seafood, or catering, Costanera offers the broadest menu and several service formats. Sabor & Fuego brings a fusion approach with ordering, delivery, and event services. If the priority is a Sunday visit to a Latin market, Mi Pueblo is in Lakeland and requires a separate check on which Peruvian vendor will be there.
Before leaving, confirm three things: restaurant menus and reservations; La Peruanita’s current stock; and, for the dated festival, whether Manos Peruanas will be present and where it will serve. Outside that event, Mi Pueblo’s public pages list Peruvian food by cuisine but do not identify a permanent operator. Those checks help visitors choose among a sit-down meal, pantry shopping, and a market outing without treating one event as a weekly service.

Research checked on October 20, 2026. Menus, stock, hours, and reviews can change. Mi Pueblo announced Manos Peruanas for a food fair on October 25, 2026; this is a dated event, not evidence of a permanent stall.
For a sit-down meal, Costanera and Sabor & Fuego offer different takes on Peruvian cooking. For home cooking, La Peruanita publishes a specialty catalog and asks shoppers to confirm availability. Mi Pueblo extends the outing to Lakeland and advertises Peruvian dishes within a broader Latin offering, but does not name a permanent stall; check before setting out.
