TheDream.US Opportunity Scholarship is intended for Dreamer students in states where they may face out-of-state tuition or restrictions on enrolling at public colleges. The award is built around relocating to one of five Partner Colleges, not attending any school a student chooses. The organization says the next application opens November 1, 2026, and closes January 31, 2027, at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time. The Opportunity Scholarship profile explains the steps and flags a mismatch in the organization’s own public state lists.
The organization lists up to US$100,000 total for a bachelor’s degree, or up to US$25,000 per year for four years, toward tuition, fees, on-campus housing, and meals. This is a ceiling, not a promise to cover every bill; the program warns that students may still owe out-of-pocket costs, and extra classes or a double major can exceed the award. The scholarship is renewable only while recipients meet continuing conditions, including full-time enrollment, and it is limited to the five Opportunity Partner Colleges listed by the organization.
The current FAQ says applicants must be high-school seniors or graduates, generally have at least a 2.5 GPA, be first-generation immigrant students who are undocumented with or without DACA or TPS, have entered the country before age 16 and before November 1, 2021, and have lived continuously in the United States since then. It also names eligible states and requires admission to a Partner College. The main program page displays a broader “locked-out states” list than the FAQ; because the public lists do not match, confirm eligibility in the live application or with TheDream.US before spending money on applications or travel.
Current Opportunity Partner Colleges are Christian Brothers University in Memphis, Delaware State University in Dover, Dominican University in River Forest, Eastern Connecticut State University in Windham, and Trinity Washington University in Washington, D.C. Students must apply both to TheDream.US and the chosen college before the scholarship deadline. The foundation says recipients cannot switch colleges after receiving the award, so compare majors, total cost, distance from family, campus support, housing, and the practical safety and expense of travel before ranking a school. Scholarship selection does not guarantee admission.
Prepare school records, GPA evidence, immigration and entry-date information, application essays, and a separate college application. Use the Pacific Time deadline, not your local time zone, and submit early enough to fix missing documents. TheDream.US publishes the deadline and partner list on its official pages and lists 1-855-376-7076 for questions. Ask the organization to resolve any mismatch between its state eligibility lists in writing; eligibility should not be inferred from a broad scholarship description or social-media post alone.

TheDream.US Opportunity Scholarship
The program offers up to US$100,000 for a four-year bachelor’s degree (up to US$25,000 per year) toward tuition, fees, and on-campus housing and meals at one of five out-of-state Partner Colleges. It requires a separate college application, admission, full-time enrollment, and renewal. The two official state lists do not match as of October 2026, so applicants should verify their state in the new round.
