In Sunrise, the first choice is not simply “soccer school or no soccer.” It is whether a child wants a seasonal municipal team, with local play and a modest published fee, or an evaluated club pathway with higher competitive expectations. The City of Sunrise’s current WebTrac catalog shows boys’ RecSoccer divisions for 2026–27; one visible 10-and-under listing covers October 10 through January 15, names ages 9–10.99 and costs $75. On October 30, that group showed a waitlist. The girls’ program appears separately, so check the division that fits the child rather than assuming every team has the same price or places.
The City’s soccer schedule is deliberately flexible: its current registration listing says “Sites Vary,” and Sunrise says recreation practices and games use parks and facilities across the city. Nob Hill Soccer Club Park at 10200 Sunset Strip has three soccer fields, spectator seating and dedicated parking; that does not mean every municipal team plays there. ACF Sunrise also trains at the same general park site. Ask Leisure Services which field and days belong to a child’s team before driving over; WebTrac’s broad evening window is not a confirmed weekly practice timetable. The city’s current activity listing is the place to check registration status.
Two programs for different stages
City of Sunrise Youth Recreation Soccer is the lower-barrier seasonal option. It is part of a broader youth athletics system that also offers other sports, and the City separately describes an incentive that can provide an eligible child with a $50 sporting-goods gift card. Eligibility and qualifying programs should be confirmed with Leisure Services before a family counts on that help.
ACF Sunrise is the competitive route and the current name of Sunrise Soccer Club, which the organization says was founded in 1978. Its published ladder begins with Academy for ages four to eight, moves to Pre-ECNL U11–U12, and lists N1 and ECNL Regional League for U13–U19. The 2026–27 tryouts are marked closed, although the club says select roster places may remain. No public universal tuition or practice calendar appears on the program page, so families should ask about the exact team, league, weekly load and full seasonal costs.
Sunrise’s soccer geography
Sunrise lies beside the Everglades Conservation Area and connects to I-595, I-75 and the Sawgrass Expressway. That makes field assignment important: a municipal team can meet at a varying city site, while ACF’s official club information and city park records point to the Sunset Strip/Nob Hill fields. Sunrise itself has no Division I professional club. Nearby, Fort Lauderdale United’s women play in the USL Gainbridge Super League, a U.S. Soccer Division I competition, at Amerant Bank Field in Davie; Inter Miami CF plays MLS at Miami Freedom Park in Miami. Neither is identified as an affiliate of the youth programs. For a first season, ask about age cutoffs, field and waitlist; for a competitive tryout, get the team’s complete commitment before accepting.
Confirm the child’s team, current field assignment and full season cost before registering.
