Three St. Petersburg chiropractic offices with very different first visits and prices

On Central Avenue and Fourth Avenue South, published appointment lengths, payment policies and clinical teams offer a more useful comparison than a generic list of services.

Central Avenue connects two offices that look similar on a map but ask different things of a new patient. At 4401 Central, Primal Performance Spine & Sport publishes a 45-minute first appointment and a $225 charge, with the examination and treatment included. Farther west, at 6514 Central, Suncoast Integrative Healthcare advertises a complimentary consultation and a broader team, but its site does not attach a comparable price to the subsequent examination. Downtown, The Body Shop Chiropractic & Wellness sets out a third model: $150 for a first visit of about 45 minutes, then separately priced visits for established patients. These are advertised terms, checked on November 4, 2026; they are not a verdict about which treatment someone needs.

What an initial price actually buys

The Body Shop says its $150 new-patient visit includes a history, neurological and orthopedic examination, an explanation of findings and treatment. Its $60 standard return appointment lasts 15 minutes and is limited to established patients with one area of complaint or a wellness visit. The $100 premium return visit lasts 30 minutes and can accommodate two or more complaint areas; a full shockwave session has its own $100 listing. That structure lets a reader estimate the cost of the appointment being booked instead of inferring it from the cheapest figure on the page. Kyle and Sarah Ward work at the Fourth Avenue South office, where the practice also describes manual adjustments, soft-tissue methods and dry needling. The online booking page separates the appointment types.

Primal also lists its prices plainly. Joseph and Natasha Maltese say they do not accept insurance, although they accept health and flexible spending accounts. The practice quotes $225 for the first appointment, $150 for a re-examination after six months or for a new complaint, and $100 for a follow-up. Its booking page says it does not treat Medicare patients. That detail matters more than a broad claim that an office is affordable: it determines whether the payment arrangement is even available to a particular reader.

The broader team on the western stretch of Central Avenue

Suncoast names Colby Staubs as clinical director, Robert Epstein as another chiropractor and Michelle Morris as a nurse practitioner. It publishes chiropractic care, physical rehabilitation, spinal decompression and other services, but the existence of a service on the site does not show that every patient will receive it or that it is clinically indicated. Its current team page gives Monday 8 a.m.–6 p.m., Tuesday 3–6 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday 8 a.m.–6 p.m., and Friday 8 a.m.–1 p.m. An older patient-information page still displays longer Tuesday hours and Saturday by appointment. We use the newer team-page schedule; this discrepancy is one practical reason to check the appointment offered, rather than assume the archived page is current.

Recent public comments about Suncoast emphasize an attentive team and explanations from Epstein; recent comments about The Body Shop describe time spent listening to patients; comments about Primal mention the Maltese clinicians' manner and follow-up. These are customers' accounts of their experience, not evidence that any procedure works for a particular diagnosis. The comparison that survives without reviews is concrete: a $150 structured first visit downtown, a $225 direct-pay first visit near 44th Street, or a western Central Avenue office with several named clinicians and an initial consultation offer whose later charges need to be established before a treatment plan begins.

For new pain after a fall or another injury, the first decision may be whether medical assessment is needed before any spinal manipulation. Federal health guidance describes manipulation as one of several approaches that can provide modest benefit for some low-back pain, not as a universal response to trauma. This guide compares published access and services; it cannot diagnose an injury.

Bottom line

Compare the actual first-visit duration, subsequent prices, clinician and payment arrangement before choosing an office; seek medical assessment when an injury calls for it.
