The most useful Sacramento taco route begins with a distinction about the meal. Chando's puts a broad filling list into tacos, mulitas and quesatacos. Lalo's sells Hidalgo-style barbacoa by the pound, inviting the table to build its own tacos. On Broadway, Maya's offers handmade-tortilla choices and full combinations beside a bar and a larger Mexican menu.
The addresses also tell stories of change. Chando's returned after a 2025 shutdown with a smaller visible map. Maya's local listing reported new ownership that year. Maya's: tortilla choices on Broadway
Maya's at 2700 Broadway distinguishes soft, crisp, flour, larger corn and handmade-tortilla taco formats. Chile verde, chile colorado and arrachera appear among the handmade-tortilla choices. Potato dorados and a two-quesabirria combination give two further ways to structure the meal.
The breadth is useful when only part of a group wants tacos: the same menu includes chile relleno, carnitas, garlic shrimp, soups and breakfast.
