RIC HOPE Scholarship is separate from CCRI’s Rhode Island Promise. Rhode Island College administers it for residents who entered RIC as first-year students and completed the required credit pathway there. It supports the final stage of a bachelor’s degree, not the start at community college.
Published requirements include Rhode Island residency, first-time freshman enrollment at RIC, FAFSA, a minimum 2.5 GPA, and a declared major before junior year. Students must earn 60 credits within the first four years after receiving the award and maintain satisfactory progress. Confirm transfer and exception rules with RIC before changing schools.
The scholarship is last-dollar aid for tuition and mandatory fees in the junior and senior years for up to two academic years, not cash paid to the student. The amount depends on other aid and tuition costs; books, housing, and living expenses are not automatically covered. The award agreement asks recipients to commit to living/working or continuing study in Rhode Island.
Apply for admission and FAFSA, complete RIC forms, and review your credit audit. Ask how entry into the program is determined and what internal document dates apply; the college must confirm the 60 credits and GPA are correctly recorded. Read the residency commitment and rules for a break in enrollment or major change before accepting.
Before accepting an aid package, compare your individual notice with the bill and ask what happens if you change enrollment, major, or campus. Read the program profile and consult the administering agency; your institution’s financial-aid office confirms your individual determination.

Information checked on October 12, 2026 against official sources. Deadlines for the 2026–27 cycle have passed for several programs; they are identified as past dates where relevant. Eligibility does not guarantee funding: confirm the academic year, your file, and net cost with the program and your campus financial-aid office.
Do not confuse RIC HOPE with Rhode Island Promise: one supports RIC students progressing to a bachelor’s degree; the other covers CCRI after high school.
