Point Foundation Flagship combines financial support, leadership development, and career guidance for LGBTQ+ students and allies. The current cycle supports study beginning in fall 2027 and lists awards of up to $15,000, not a guaranteed amount. The Foundation also offers a scholar and alumni community, virtual workshops, and career activities; this award does not replace a college’s financial-aid offer.
Published criteria include a minimum cumulative 3.3 GPA, at least high-school senior standing when applying, and full-time enrollment in a degree-seeking program at an accredited U.S. nonprofit institution. LGBTQ+ students and allies may apply. Fully online degree programs are excluded, as are students who have already received four years of Flagship support.
For the 2027 cycle, the page lists an opening date of September 9 and a November 19 deadline at 5 p.m. Pacific time. The Foundation recommends applying once materials are ready rather than waiting until the last day. Previous applicants must create a new profile and application; prior files do not transfer. Confirm the time zone and consider Point’s application webinars.
The Foundation recommends its fall webinars, which explain the process and allow applicants to ask eligibility questions. Prepare your academic and community record early, and compare costs the scholarship does not cover with the campus office before making a financial decision.
Before applying, confirm that the school and program participate, check cycle requirements and dates, keep a copy and submission receipt, and ask how the award coordinates with FAFSA and other benefits. Do not budget funds that have not been awarded.
When comparing options, identify whether the benefit is a scholarship, grant, tuition exemption, or loan: not all aid must be repaid or applies to the same charges. Ask the college for a written estimate after FAFSA and other awards, check renewal and academic-progress rules, and do not accept a loan thinking it is a scholarship.
Read the program profile and the federal FAFSA guide; confirm with the administrator how the aid coordinates.
