Point’s Career & Technical Education Award supports LGBTQ+ and ally students in career-focused certificates or vocational programs that do not lead to an associate degree. The spring 2027 award is listed at $2,000: $1,500 at the start of the term and $500 after program requirements are completed. It is distinct from the Community College Scholarship, which serves students pursuing an associate degree or transfer to a bachelor’s program.
The current application opened September 30 and closes December 3, 2026, at 5 p.m. Pacific. Funds apply to the January–May 2027 term. Applicants must be enrolled or intend to enroll in an accredited trade or career-certificate program and take at least one credit-bearing class at an accredited U.S. postsecondary institution. Fully online programs and degree-seeking study unrelated to professional certification or vocational training are ineligible.
Applicants must be LGBTQ+ or an ally and must have exited any prior Point scholarship in active status. Prepare enrollment proof, program costs, and the course schedule to explain how the award would support training; the organization may request additional information. Point also offers professional-development and community resources, although the financial award is for one term. Verify the school’s accreditation before paying a nonrefundable tuition deposit.
Before applying, confirm the correct cohort, time zone, documents your school must submit, and whether funds are applied to tuition or other costs. Your institution’s financial-aid office can explain how the award interacts with FAFSA and outside scholarships.
Read the aid-program profile and the FAFSA guide; your institution’s financial-aid office can verify your individual case.
