Point Access aims to reduce barriers for LGBTQ+ and ally students who will be the first in their family to earn a bachelor’s degree or come from under-resourced households. The listed award is $1,500 for one academic term; it is not automatically renewable each year. Alongside funding, Point offers leadership and career development and access to a student and alumni community.

The current application closes October 22, 2026 at 5 p.m. Pacific Time. Requirements include a minimum 2.0 GPA, at least half-time enrollment in an associate, undergraduate, graduate, or professional program at an accredited nonprofit U.S. institution, LGBTQ+ community membership or ally status, and the first-generation or limited-resource criterion. Fully online programs and high-school students seeking dual-enrollment funding are excluded.

The form is available for a short window and requires applicants to confirm they have not reached the four-term funding limit for Access. Previous Point scholars must have exited their former program in active status to remain eligible. Check the portal as soon as your transcript and financial information are ready; if selected, ask financial aid how the award will be applied alongside other scholarships. Do not confuse Access with Flagship: their amounts, GPA thresholds, and funding periods differ.

Before submitting anything, confirm eligibility and that the application window is open on the official source. Gather transcripts, FAFSA or other financial-aid forms when required, essays, and recommendations; keep a copy and submission receipt. Track the application deadline separately from supporting-document deadlines. Monitor the portal and email until the file is complete. Ask financial aid how an award coordinates with other scholarships, and do not budget funds that have not been awarded.

When comparing options, distinguish scholarships, grants, waivers, and loans: they are not all repaid or applied to the same charges. Ask for an estimate of the balance after FAFSA and other aid, and review renewal rules before relying on funding.

Read the program profile and the federal FAFSA guide; confirm with the administrator how the aid coordinates.
