The Consulate General of Peru in New York is at 241 East 49th Street, Manhattan, NY 10017. Gob.pe, the consular portal and the Maps listing agree on the address and main number, (646) 735-3901. In-person service is listed Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m., by appointment only; document collection ends at 1 p.m. That shorter window matters for visitors returning only to collect a passport or DNI.

The published jurisdiction covers New York State. If you live in Connecticut, New Jersey or another nearby state, do not assume Manhattan is the correct office just because it is closer; verify the consular district for your home address. The office has also held outreach sessions in distant counties. The Foreign Ministry recorded a Poughkeepsie event in December 2025 to provide some services and deliver documents, but that report describes a past date and does not announce future stops.

Gob.pe lists 29 procedures, including DNI identity documents, biometric passports for adults and minors, emergency travel documents for lost or damaged passports, birth, marriage and death registrations, certified copies, powers of attorney, legalisations, visas and assistance. The official booking site recommends reviewing requirements before reserving and says every applicant, including a child, needs an individual appointment. Families should plan bookings by person and service rather than relying on one general reservation.

Telephone contacts are divided by subject. The main line handles general questions during one window; passports, visas, DNI, powers, notarial work and civil registration have dedicated numbers and hours. The emergency mobile is explicitly reserved for urgent situations and does not answer routine procedure questions. For an application already in process, contact the responsible section and include the reference, without sharing personal information through unofficial channels.

The institutional site lets applicants check whether a document is ready for collection and posts Saturday sessions for specific dates. Do not assume service is available every Saturday: check the current notice, confirm that it includes your procedure and follow its pickup hours. For a regular visit, keep the appointment confirmation, bring the listed originals and copies, check current fees and payment methods, and allow time to enter the building.

On the exact Google Maps listing, recent comments we read thank staff for clear explanations, patience and courteous help during different procedures. These are personal accounts, not a promise of a short wait or a particular outcome. Reviews can provide context about service experiences, but the official requirements and appointment confirmation are what matter when preparing an application.

Our profile of the Consulate General of Peru in New York gathers its address, contact details and services. Before setting out, confirm jurisdiction, book for each applicant, check the exact procedure and distinguish an appointment from document collection.

Guide checked on October 18, 2026 against Peru’s consular portal, the Foreign Ministry and the exact Google Maps listing. Jurisdiction, appointments, fees and hours may change; we recommend checking official instructions again before travelling. The rating and review count are stored in the profile data and are not repeated in its prose.

Bottom line

Book a separate appointment for each applicant, check the procedure requirements and use the relevant section’s phone or email. For document collection, check the office’s separately published pickup window.
