What services does Peru’s Consulate General in Washington offer, and which states does it serve?

Peru’s consulate in Washington serves the District of Columbia and five nearby states. We explain how to check jurisdiction, which procedures are listed, where the office is and how to arrange an appointment before travelling.

The Consulate General of Peru in Washington, D.C. serves a regional district that does not stop at the city boundary. Its institutional page lists the District of Columbia and the states of Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, Kentucky and West Virginia. For people living in the region, checking the district is the first step: the nearest consulate does not necessarily have jurisdiction over the address on your record.

The office is at 1225 23rd St. NW, Washington, DC 20037. The consular portal publishes consulado@conperdc.org and separates two time windows: in-person procedures Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.–1 p.m., by appointment; telephone or email inquiries, 2:30–4:30 p.m. It also lists (202) 230-9992 for emergencies only. That line is not for routine appointments.

The portal and Gob.pe catalogue organize DNI, biometric passport, civil-registry, notarial, visa and consular-assistance procedures. A recent children’s DNI procedure, updated in July 2026, shows how the catalogue translates into concrete steps: select the procedure, book online, bring the child and present identity and relationship documents. The same page states its fee and payment methods, with specific exceptions; review it again before every visit because requirements may change.

For another procedure, start at the official services page, select the applicant’s age and situation, and save the appointment confirmation. Check originals and copies, accepted payment and whether the applicant must appear in person. Notarial acts and visas depend on the purpose and may require documents issued outside the United States, so do not transfer instructions from one procedure to another.

Public Google Maps comments are individual accounts about this office: some describe help with specific matters, while others mention communication or appointment coordination difficulties. We do not treat them as a definitive measure of service. The practical advice is to confirm instructions in writing, arrive during procedure hours and bring a complete file.

The office also holds community events. An official Independence Day report documents a ceremony at the José de San Martín monument and provides an institutional photograph of that event, rather than a generic picture of chairs or an unidentified building. For visitors, the operational essentials remain jurisdiction and the exact procedure page.

Guide checked on October 18, 2026 against the official consular portal, published current procedures, the exact Google Maps listing and institutional material. Procedures have their own requirements and generally require an appointment; confirm instructions before visiting. Google figures are recorded in metadata and are not repeated in the profile.

Bottom line

First confirm that your residence falls within the consulate’s district, then follow the specific procedure page. The office handles identity, passport, registry, notarial and visa matters, but documents, fees and appointments vary by case; check the official instructions and keep your confirmation.
