The Oregon Tribal Student Grant is designed to reduce college costs in Oregon for enrolled members of one of the state’s nine federally recognized Tribes. New and continuing students may apply for degree programs and some graduate study at public colleges or eligible Oregon private institutions. The grant cannot be used at an out-of-state college, and the current published rules exclude summer terms.
The grant is calculated against a reference cost of attendance and reduced by Pell, the Oregon Opportunity Grant, and other grants or scholarships; it is not the same fixed amount for everyone. For 2026–27, applicants must submit FAFSA or ORSAA, the separate program application, and an annual tribal-enrollment verification form. The state disburses funds to the institution, and the amount may be prorated by credits. The final calculation depends on campus, degree level, and other aid.
The 2026–27 priority deadline was September 30, 2026. OSAC says late applications are not guaranteed consideration, so an application submitted now should not be counted as confirmed funding. If you applied on time, ask financial aid which documents remain and how the disbursement will appear. For the next cycle, prepare FAFSA or ORSAA and coordinate early with the authorized tribal official who verifies enrollment.
