Oklahoma’s Promise is a long-term pathway: students apply during grades 8–12 and, if they meet requirements through college, receive tuition assistance at eligible Oklahoma institutions. It is not a scholarship to postpone until after graduation. The application requires a parent or guardian’s participation and household financial documents.
For the regular pathway, parental adjusted gross income may not exceed $60,000 with one or two dependents, $70,000 with three or four, or $80,000 with five or more. Special tracks include children of certified teachers with ten years of service. College eligibility includes an annual income review—generally below $100,000—plus FAFSA, academic progress, coursework, and conduct.
Seniors in the 2026–27 school year have until December 31, 2026 to apply. The application is completed online through OKcollegestart and a parent or guardian signs the agreement. Aid varies by institution and does not automatically cover fees, books, or housing. Keep the confirmation and check for missing documents; starting the form is not the same as program enrollment.
Request an individual review and net-cost statement before enrolling. Confirm residency, program, credits, funding, deadline, renewal, and excluded charges in writing; keep receipts and monitor the campus portal. The financial-aid office makes the final determination and can explain how this aid combines with FAFSA and other grants.
Read the program profile and FAFSA guide; ask for a personal review of your balance.
